Piano on campus?
Hey,
I'm not sure if this has already been asked before; I tried to find it but failed. I am just wondering if there is a piano on campus that students who aren't in Music can use. I was told there is one in one of the residences, but I don't live on campus, but rather commute..
Anyone know?

In Whidden there is one.
But you need to first get into Whidden if you don't live there (easy)
and need the door to the piano room open (I do not know how this works, I'm guessing a CA or someone has the key)
Can't you just ask the music people? or join the orchestra or something

Oh, mhm, well that would be kind of hard to access at any time of the day..
And I doubt they let you in unless you are taking a course or are majoring in it because they only have about 3-4 pianos for all the piano students :(..

There's one in the upper levels of MDCL. I don't remember which floor exactly, but you won't miss it if you explore the building a bit. It's in plain view. Good luck finding it

You can make your way into Moulton Hall and use the pianos there. There is one on every single floor! That means five different pianos so if one is taken, you could just go to a different floor. They are all up-right pianos though.
In Wallingford there is a baby grand piano.

Most residence buildings have a piano in the basement or a common area.....but you can't exactly use it if you don't live in that particular residence. All buildings have an access card (which students in residence have) to get in.

I don't think it's appropriate to recommend those who don't live in residences to just walk in UNLESS they are accompanied at all times with an individual of that residence. You will be fined if you are caught tailgating. Though you may be a nice person who simply wants to use a piano, we don't know that and for the safety of all students no tailgating please.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on sneaking in any of the residences either, unless I knew someone who lived there..
I'll definately try the 4th floor of MDCL or the Eng lounge

If you're willing to go downtown, I think the Hamilton Public Library has a few that are available for use. I know that it's a service they've offered in the past, so give them a shout if you need another option.
