Prof changing a course time
I am taking american geography (geo 2ru3 with mercier) and he posted a message on avenue that says the class is at 830am. However, the course outline (winter 2011) and the master timetable says that the class is at 11:30am.
What I'm basically asking is, is it possible for a prof to change the class time or can i take it as a typo.

Thanks in advance.

Just go with what the prof says.

I doubt he/she made the mistake of typing a completely different time, thats not a typo.

How he is able to do that? What if people have conflicts with other classes at 8:30?

according to the master timetable, his 3RW3 class is at 8:30 the same days as 2RU3, but his 2011 course outline says 11:30

so... which class is he actually teaching at 11:30 cause I need to pick one of those 2 (3RW3/2RU3)

I'm pretty sure 2RU3 is at 11:30. He probably just got confused. When in doubt always go with what the registrar says.

That's why I'm asking. I have a conflict at 8 30am, so I'm hoping he just got confused with his other course.

I appreciate the answers everyone

You should really take this up on avenue.. if one of my profs did that I'm sure there would be a shitstorm on the discussion board.. haha

To elaborate on my previous post, profs can't change course times. If the registrar says the class is at 11:30, it's at 11:30, no if, ands or buts. Since 3RW3 is at 8:30, and he's teaching both classes, it is highly likely he just got the two times mixed up.
Contact him, or the geo department if he doesn't get back to you (it happens), to double check though.

alyciag says thanks to smiley12 for this post.

I should add that I'm in the class too, and the discussion boards on avenue are strangely not active yet.
Otherwise I'm sure this would assuredly be happening right as we speak.

I'm registered in 2RU3 and I saw that on Avenue as well - don't worry about it. He probably just copied and pasted that little introduction from one of his other classes and forgot to change the time. Just go by what the McMaster timetable and your personal timetable says, which is 11:30am.
If you're really worried, you can email him and ask. Mercier is really good at answering emails quickly.

Not yet. Sometimes there is a delay from when you register to when it shows up on Avenue. I would contact someone in week or so if it's still not up.
