Professor responsibilities?
I was wondering if there was some sort of list of regulations or responsibilities for professors. One of my professors is refusing to post or tell anyone what mark they got for attendance. Since its 10% of the grade i think this is quite unfair. Is there some sort of policy that they must post or tell students the marks they get? Otherwise it may just be an arbitrary number, there's no way of knowing.

Actually there is a policy where the prof can keep one of your grades, so they can decide not to give it to you. I found that out last semester. It was also an attendance grade, but not a lot of profs follow this policy. I didn't think it was a big deal, it was only 10% and I had a pretty good idea of what range I was in.

My first impression was that NFlash just wanted to know whether or not he/she was getting conned by his/her professor, or maybe he/she wanted to see if his/her friend signed the attendance sheet for all the times he/she skipped.

...Gender-neutrality shouldn't require so much effort. I wish we had a gender-neutral pronoun used to describe people that doesn't have the connotations "it" does. =\

The only regulation I'm aware of is that professors are required to let you know 10% of your grade before the last drop deadline. The idea behind this being that students should have some idea of how they're performing in the class so that they have the opportunity to drop it before it affects their grades.
