Psych 2d03/2n03
i know that 2n03 replaced 2d03, but i can't seem to find any reviews on either course, just wondering if anybody who did take the course, how is it? and what's the difference with 2f03? this september, 2n03 is taught by ullal, and 2f03 is taught by goldriech.
thanks

I took 2N03 with Ullal, hes an amazing teacher, but his tests are veryyyy tricky.. like you need to know little details that you would think are irrelevant but aren't. All the testable material comes from lectures though. Umm basically this course is neuroanatomy with all of it's examples in relation to psych. You learn about a lot of disorders and syndromes. Content wise it was one of my favourites of second year. 2F03 I think is just straight up neuroanatomy, and it may go into a bit more biological detail than 2N03.
Oh, and a side note, 2N03 is 2 midterms, 2 assignments and the final. Its manageable, just make sure you go to class!

Also, you need Biology 1A03 for 2F03, whereas for 2N03 I think you only need first year psych, and one of the first year bio's if you don't have grade 12 bio. I was going to take 2F before I found out I needed that bio, 2N03 also sounds more interesting.

Hey I took Psych 2f03....it was a great course and after it, i came out knowing ALOT about the brain and all the systems with it (how muscles work via neurotransmitters, the eyes, hearing, etc). It is definitely a course I would recommend if your in science/biology because it helped when I took Bio 2A03.
That being said, goldriech's midterm was tricky and he has a physics back ground and incorporated math and all that fun stuff into the final exam. So its definitely on the heavier side but overall well worth it. He also tests stuff from the text book so the text book is required.
P.S if its still the evening class, be prepared to be there right until 10. Sometimes he was even reluctant to give us breaks lol.

Yeah 2F03 was a great class. I didn't mind being stuck there til exactly 10 most of the time. The midterm was tricky for sure. The exam was much better, I thought.

Has anyone here taken psych 3F03? Do you plan to take it? I heard it was a difficult course.

I actually found the exam to be harder than the midterm, mainly because I prepared for the exam under the assumption that it would be mostly the same as the midterm, just longer. The multiple choice section completely threw me off.
I'd echo the sentiments that its a really interesting course and that Goldreich is awesome, but its definitely a difficult course. Although I think a lot of that is because most people taking psych courses don't like physics that much (BJ being the exception of course) and Goldreich loves to incorporate physics.
PS- Hi Alina!

Can someone compare psych2f03 and psych2n03 on basis of content and course structure? It would be nice to know which of the two is easier I am trying to figure out which out of the two I should take.
