Question for first year social science student
Hey guys. I got accepted to the Social Sciences at Mac and I have been thinking about going into Commerce. I took advanced functions and got a 61%. I was thinking of taking MATH 1K03, MATH 1A03 and STATISTICS as well as the other required courses for Commerce. Can I do this? Also if I can, can I change my major to Commerce? Thanks 1K03MATH 1K03MATH 1K03

Yup, you can switch faculties. As you mentioned, you should take the courses that are required for Business I.

You'll need to do well in these courses to stay competitive, as there is limited space, and you'll be competing with many people that are also trying to switch.

I would also recommend that you talk to a business academic adviser sometime throughout your first year, preferably, first term.

I hope this helps!

EDIT: To add, in terms of courses, you'll need to take both economics, math, and computer science. You won't be able to take the commerce courses as they are restricted to only people that are registered in Business I. Again, I'd recommend that you talk to a business academic adviser in first term.

Yeah, I believe that you'll be able to switch faculties easily if you're able to maintain high grades especially in the required courses. I'm not to sure about the marks that are required to transfer to a specific faculty. However, I do have a friend that switched to business, and he had at least a 10 or higher in all the required courses.

As I mentioned before, your best bet would be to talk to an academic adviser.
