Just write a sexy application, not about why you should get into health sci, but one demonstrating your insightful thinking and who you are as a person and you should get in.

I wouldn't say it's about how many extracurriculars you do, but rather how they've changed you. What many applicants end up doing is list all their activities in one of their supplementary application questions without describing the point of it all. Other applicants may only mention one or two specific things that they are truly passionate about, and when readers are marking the essays, it becomes clear why these activities are important to them. Remember, markers can't verify all the activities applicants take part in, however they can tell if something is meaningful by the way the applicant describes it.

No, it's all about grades x 1 + supplementary x 1 + luck x 10. So good LUCK!

I was responding to the posts above mine. Reading - a good skill toi haves.
and the rest, thanks for the help. I'll ask guidance about the second semester thing since no one seems to know about it.

Maybe you should just not go on macinsiders and ask your guidance councilor from the start.
Don't tell my fellow macinsiders who actually worked hard and made it to McMaster to go learn reading skills. Be careful next time. This ain't the place for you to be in if you are going to behave this way.

It was an idra reference. I'm not here to start arguments, so let's end it here, heh.

So what are the RIGHT reasons for wanting to becoming a doctor?

First of all, the posts above you (including mine) never questioned your intent to go into medicine - I made sure to double check before posting my comment. Crazyfree only asked about your intent for doing your extracurricular activities.
I certainly hope that you don't always act this way to people who are giving you advice. Especially people who have successfully gone through the admission process. If you manage to get into medical school and you still act this way, the nurses and your preceptors are going to have a field day with you.
