Well, for alot of courses, yes. I have bought a few textbooks over the past few years, but none of them were for Health Sci courses. As Casey mentioned earlier, Health Sci courses tend to place a much greater emphasis on using scientific journals and other academic literature. However, some people learn better from textbooks, so Health Sci instructors offer that as an option.

I like that learning style. I'm not such a great fan of memorizing the textbooks myself.
