I've seen Star Wars and Jurassic Park - just download ALL of JOHN WILLIAMS stuff.. omg. so. amazing. I would have his babies if he wasn't old.
the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack (the first one) is good. second two, not so much.
have you tried any symphonies? Vivaldi's Four Seasons is always good, as is Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite and 1812 Overture.
Alfred Reed (Armenian Dances, Hounds of Spring) is also a favourite composer of mine. You can't go wrong with some Gustav Holst (if you're in the mood for a march)

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I've listened to most of these at some point in my life... just needed a refresher on names. XD
-off to write my exam-
Keep the suggestions coming. Got a long break ahead of me.

Joe Satriani and Steve Vai - two of the greatest guitar players of all time (and my two favourites). Maybe save them for after exams because you're inevitably going to want to pick up the guitar and attempt to play along (Satriani is easier to learn if you've been playing for a while... Vai's stuff is quite challenging).
For the most part, both are instrumental.
Enjoy!

I usually study with Sigur Ros, too. Also Jonsi and Alex's album Riceboy Sleeps is really atmospheric and perfect for studying. It's similar to Sigur Ros since Jonsi is also in that band, but without any singing.

It sounds cheesy but I love the soundtrack to the good the bad and the ugly, the song extasy of gold has become a cliche and you've most likely heard it before but I still love the song. Also Pirates of the Carabian. The soundtrack to there will be blood is also quite good if a little depressing, it's a classical soundtack that was composed by the guitar player in radiohead, can't remember his name.
The only traditional classical music I ever listen to is the one song by brahms, I think it's called brahm's violin concerto third movement. It plays at the end credits of there will be blood and I've been hooked on that song since then. Bethoven's ninth is also good if you're in the mood for that sort of thing, once again I got it from the movie a clockword orange... oh a clockwork orange has a great soundtrack. Anyway ya those are my suggestions.

John Frusciante - Before the Beginning (sounds a lot like Funkadelic'sMaggot Brain)
The entire Ghosts I-IV album by Nine Inch Nails! Its just plainly awesome! My favorite is
I have tons of classical music on my laptop too; your usual Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi etc; You can youtube them, but not sure if they are your cup of tea.
ATB's Trilogy album has some awesome ambient/instrumental tracks as well(eg: Trilogy(the final chapter)
You can look into ethnic instrumentals on youtube as well; they are a nice change of pace(Arabic, Latin, Japanese/Chinese & South Asian Classical Tabla/Sitar)
