I took this as an elective this past summer, so it was only a two month duration. My prof was Dr. Lisa Kuly who is a sessional professor and will not be at Mac this upcoming year. Although I suspect this class is a bird course during the regualr school year, I found taking it in the summer was quite difficult becasue there was an enormous amount of reading! We covered six books in this time and had to read each one in about 4 days. Some of the books were okay, but I found that I got the religions confused and I couldn't keep up with the fast pace. I'm an English student, so I'm used to a lot of reading with story plots, but I just didn't find that I had enough time to let the book set in before we pressed onto the next. Also, a lot of the names of the charcters were very hard to remember. The prof spoke very quickly and didn't repeat anything, and she also didn't use slides. I also found that she wasn't very clear on her expectations. I did poorly on a writing portfolio that I was confidant I had done well in. I was very surprised when I got it back, as were many other students. Overall, I didn't like this course. I got the lowest grade in this class of all of my 1st year classes.
