Religious Studies 2N03
This was an incredible course. I'm really into bioethics and death and dying clearly fits really well with this topic so my interest is slightly biased. The professor was incredible- Dr. Ross. She is extremely approachable and always willing to help a student out. Participation in this course was worth, 20% I believe so attending lecture, tutorial and participating in an online forum discussion was essential. We also had to plan our funeral. Some people think it's morbid I thought it was pretty cool and helped me learn more about myself and what I want out of life. I also had a take out midterm which was very very long. This course requires a lot of time devoted to it which can be challenging but the content itself is not difficult to grasp. This course is definitely an eye-opener and I highly recommend that students take it. You can say life is short so live it to the fullest but you really don't understand the depth of the statement until you really investigate the issue.

RS 2N03 and 2M03
I recently completed RS 2M03 and wondering if I can take 2N03 even though I have done 2M03, because they are similar?
Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Took in term 2, 2012
The breakdown was:
Attendance and participation (20%). We were required to attend all lectures and a tutorial - attendance was taken every time. For participation, we needed to speak often during tutorial, as well as do weekly postings on the discussion board (atleast 4 a week).
There was a take home midterm (30%). I really liked being able to take it home and work on it. It was EXTREMELY lengthy though and required alot of time. We had to answer 6 questions in essay format, maximum 2 pages double spaced each (there were choices for which questions).
The project was worth 17%. We had the option of doing an art assignment or pre-death ritual. It was a really cool project, as I learned alot about how I would feel around the time of my death and what my last wishes would be.
The exam was also take home and was worth 33%. This time we had to answer 4 questions in essay format, maximum 2 pages double spaced each.
Overall it was a good class. I ended up with an 11 and found the writing assignments to be both interesting and easy. I would definitely suggest this as an elective, but only if you're good at writing (seeing as the entire course is based on your writing style and insight).
