Requisite Requirements Failed? Why..
So here's the story.. I'm registering for my classes for 2nd year Molecular Biology and Genetics. Two of my classes are telling me I don't have the proper pre-req's but clearly that's not true..
It says I am lacking the requirements for:
Biology 2EE3-
Prerequisite(s):
ISCI 1A24; or BIOLOGY 1A03, 1M03 (or 1AA3), CHEM 1AA3 and credit or registration in one of CHEM 2BA3, 2E03, 2OA3, 2OC3; or registration in Level III Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering.
Well, I have Bio 1A03, Bio 1M03, Chem 1AA3 and I am registered in Chem 2OA3 for 1st semester..
Astronomy 2E03-
Prerequisite(s):
One of ARTS&SCI 2D06, ISCI 1A24, PHYSICS 1B03, 1D03; and one of ARTS&SCI 1D06, MATH 1A03, 1N03, 1X03 ,1Z04; or ISCI 1A24
I have Physics 1B03, and I have a 12 in Math 1LS3, so that should cover Math 1A03, shouldn't it?

It should. It could just be a MUGSI issue; I couldn't get into classes last year where I had all the prereqs. Email the department, and tell them about your problem, and they should either create a permission for you OR notify whoever runs MUGSI.

Would I need to contact the Physics and Astronomy department separately for the Astronomy class?
I also just realized that Stats 2B03 is full, which is a requirement of mine, is completely full as well.. What a nightmare haha..

You can take Stats in 3rd year (which I am doing), no need to worry

Yeah.. There seems to be an awful lot of classes to cram in. Is anyone here actually in this program? What did you guys take in 2nd year?
Right now I've gotten into
Cell Bio
Genetics
Physiology
Orgo I
Orgo II
Big Questions (an elective!)

Hah.. Now it says I'm lacking the requirements for Bio 2L03 (Experimental Design in Biology). Considering the requirement is:
Registration in Level II or III of any Honours Biology, Honours Molecular Biology and Genetics or Honours Molecular Biology program
I suspect SOLAR is a little broken =\

I got an automated reply telling me:
COURSE PREREQUISITES:
Are you failing the prerequisite for a Fall/Winter 2010-2011 course? Most Biology/Molecular Biology courses require that students meet the full prerequisites to take the course.
Only the instructor of a course can grant/deny a requisite waiver. Please contact the appropriate instructor to make the request. If a waiver is granted, please e-mail proof to [email protected] so that it may be entered electronically to enable you to add the course on SOLAR. Please note that a waiver does not guarantee a seat in a course but only the opportunity to attempt to obtain a seat.
FULL COURSES:
All Biology/Molecular Biology courses have a course capacity which cannot be exceeded. If you are receiving a message that the course is full, please continue to attempt to add it in the hopes a seat becomes available. If the course is required for your program (and not just one from the course list which you wish to take), please let us know and we will investigate access for you.
ACADEMIC COUNSELLING:
Biology program counselors may be available throughout the summer. Their contact information is available at:

Drop-in academic advising is also available from the Associate Dean of Science Studies office in BSB-129, Monday to Friday between 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm. Same thing happened last year iirc...don't worry about it just yet. It's more than likely just MUGSI being MUGSI.

Hey,
For Biology 2EE3, did you try adding the HTH SCI 1BS0 course (The safety training course)? It could be a problem related to that.

Edit- Astronomy aside, now everything is working. Must be an issue with MUGSI/SOLAR not recognizing that a 10 or above in 1LS3 math = Math 1A03
