But like I said, there are some more complicated methods of solving, some which settle for 99.999% accuracy to get out in 5 years, and some which settle for 100% accuracy and can get out in 9-11 years. I just gave the simplest answer so that more people would understand it.
Are you getting these answers from a website? I would like to read them ^-^

on a lighter note

I turn polar bears white
and I will make you cry
I make guys have to pee
and girls comb their hair
I make celebrities look stupid
and normal people look like celebrities
I turn pancakes brown
I make your champagne bubble
If you squeeze me I'll pop
If you look at me you'll pop
Can you guess the riddle?

I actually just found this website now when refreshing myself of the problem.

When I was originally told this problem a couple years ago, I ended up solving it with the method I described. The PDF I linked you has alternative solutions that were better than mine in terms of average finish time (I got 26.2 years, they got the 11 years answer with 100% certainty and the 5 years answer with the drawback of *only* 99.999% certainty).

But then again, I don't have a phd in math like the people who came up with the alternative solutions.

The following puzzle is rated the hardest difficulty by MENSA. (Don't be lame and google the answer )

The riddle: 100 prisoners are in separate solitary cells, unable to see, speak or communicate in any way from those solitary cells with each other.

There's a central living room with one light bulb; the bulb is initially off. No prisoner can see the light bulb from his own cell.

Everyday, the warden picks a prisoner at random, and that prisoner goes to the central living room. While there, the prisoner can toggle the bulb on/off if he or she wishes. Also, the prisoner has the option of asserting the claim that all 100 prisoners have been to the living room. If this assertion is false (that is, some prisoners still haven't been to the living room), all 100 prisoners will be shot. However, if it is indeed true, all prisoners will be set free. Thus, the assertion should only be made if the prisoner is 100% certain of its validity.

Before the random picking begins, the prisoners are allowed to get together to discuss a plan. So ---- what plan should they agree on, so that eventually, someone will make a correct assertion?

Q: How can the prisoners tell, with certainty, that all 100 of them have visited the central living room with the light bulb.
Wow lol... How do you even begin solving this riddle lol, Nice job Joseph for solving it

Here is another decently challenging Logic Riddle:
(Don't be lame and google the answer!! )

Four strangers are traveling through the desert and are captured by bandits. The bandits decide to toy with them, so they bury all 4 of them in the sand, 2 wearing a white hat and 2 wearing a black hat. The furthest to the right is wearing a white hat, facing the wall. The next is wearing a black hat, facing towards the wall. The next is wearing a white hat, facing the wall. The last is on the other side of the wall.

Quick diagram:

Black> [wall] <white <black <white

Arrows show which way they are facing.

So, the bandits say the first to guess what color hat they are wearing will go free, the rest will be shot.

So: Which of the strangers in the sand has an almost flawless method to get the right answer?

Since the last time I posted a riddle a lot of questions were asked about things they were allowed to do, here is a quick list of things:

It is a pure logic answer, so nothing weird like:
-Reflections
-Heat
-X-ray vision
-They can't turn around to look behind them; They are buried and their vision is locked to look forward
-They can't just look up and see the color of their hat.
-etc etc

Once again, it's a pure logic answer.

1) Black> [wall] < 2)white < 3)black < 4)white

the one with the black hat on the right would have the flawless answer.

# 1 would not know at all.
# 2 wouldn't either as he can't see any hat
#4 would not know since both in front has a black and has a white, so he can't be sure which one he has still.
# 3 would get it as, he can see white, and # 4 would give it away as he does not say anything ( only way he'll say that he's sure if # 3 has white too but he does not). # 3 would then know he has a black hat.

sorry if my explanation is not Very clear.

New Riddle

A petshop owner had a parrot with a sign on its cage that said "Parrot repeats everything it hears". Davey bought the parrot and for two weeks he spoke to it and it didn't say a word. He returned the parrot but the shopkeeper said he never lied about the parrot. How can this be?

The parrot is deaf, so he can't hear and therefore repeats nothing.

New Riddle:
With pointed fangs it sits in wait,
With piercing force its doles out fate,
Over bloodless victims proclaiming its might,
Eternally joining in a single bite.
What am I?

((I didn't make it up, but it's funny.))
