You can also communicate over msn if possible. I ended up adding a lot of people from my residence on my msn before I ever met them.

Didn't do the rez thing, so I feel like I missed out on right of passage ):
Was needed at home, so I've never lived away from home...until September, when I'll finally move out to cut down my commute. I calculated the other day, that I spent almost 2 full months (about 55 days) on the bus, over my last four years.
Anyway, I'm just posting this to say, consider yourselves lucky that you know who your roomies are! xD I can't shake the feeling that I'm going to wind up sharing a room with a serial killer.

That would be valid reason to change rooms though.

My roommate went to camp with a bunch of girls from my school, and knew stuff about me before we even talked. I wasn't creeped out though, because asking people is a lot better than Facebook stalking!
Once you find something in common with your roommate (in our case - teaching sailing at camp), the conversation will just go from there!

You're definitely right. But sometimes it takes quite a logn time to find that one thing in common :(

That's where Facebook stalking comes in handy.

Ah those toilet monsters are everywhere!
I'm sure it'll be fine though, like everything else you just have to set and respect rules.

I'm going to live off campus by renting a room as well, so I know how you feel.
Can't do much either if the Boogeyman resides in your house. Unless you get Chuck Norris.

My roommate didn't leave his e-mail but on the rez website I had an option to message him, so I did. He replied with his facebook name and I added him. We've only talked a bit but we have plenty of time to talk more.

I can't see how that could possibly be the worst. How would you know they're doing it?
