Running routes around mac
Hey there,

I'm from vancouver and know close to nothing about hamilton, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the running routes around campus or around the area. Are there any good forest/lake/river runs? I've heard something about the cootes forest - is it good running?

Thanks guys!

There are a lot of trails that run through Cootes (its basically a forest with a lake on the other side), a lots of people run there. You'd probably really enjoy it - there are some funny trees and flowers there that that actually belong further south, but survive because of some crazy climate thing going on (I ca't remember... prof explained it once, lol)

It's easy to access, there are a bunch of trails that come off campus and you just walk in. I know there's one behind on of the reses and one near the soccer/football field.

If you dont feel like running in the forest you can just circle campus/run around campus, I see people do it all the time and no one minds/notices at all.

I run to Princess Point and I just run around there. It's preeeetty far from campus and there are a ton of trails. You can run along and under the 403, then follow the lake all the way downtown. I've done 10k that way and it's actually really nice.

Sweet. I just went for a run through Cootes yesterday at twilight and the lake is stunning as the sun sets. Definitely stoked for more runs throughout the year here.

On that note if anyone's looking for a running partner, I usually run anywhere from 30min to an hour at a decent pace, I'm an 18 year old girl and occasionally I do hills and intervals too, nothing too killer though.

Feel free to find me on facebook under Katherine Ho and send me a message. (also I'm looking for an indoor or outdoor climbing partner but I'll post to that later). Thanks again for your help!
