Russian 1ZZ3 prereq
Hello. I would like to take Russian 1ZZ3 (the second level of russian courses) but it says that i neeed a prereq. The problem with that is I am Russian and am somewhat familiar with the language and want something that will suit my experience level. Is there anyone I can contact to discuss this? I'm not even sure what faculty to call. Any help would be appreciated.

That course has a prerequisite (RUSSIAN 1Z03 or 2A03 ), so you can't really take it :/ You can get in touch with the prof/department and ask if they can get you in.
"Courses in Russian are administered within the Department of Linguistics and Languages of the Faculty of Humanities. "

You can definitely skip 1Z03 if yo have prior knowledge, there were many students who did just that when I did Russian. The professor is Nina Kolesnikoff.

I know they have given permission to students for other languages (example, Polish), so you should be okay. Depends on the prof too, though.

Some people were even able to skip both 1Z03/1ZZ3 and go right into 2Z03 actually. Just email the prof, I'm 99.9% sure you can skip 1Z03 if you already have some familiarity with Russian, or even just a similar enough language. For example, some of the people who skipped 1Z03 didn't know Russian, they knew Ukrainian.

You might have to take a proficiency test. Contact the department and set one up.
