save library searches!
I thought I'd bring your attention to a new service in our library catalogue. You can now save your search and have results sent to you via rss feed! Perform a search and then choose to save it - any new material that fits your search criteria will automatically be sent to you via an rss feed. Not sure what rss feeds are? Feel free to contact me and I can show you or check out this site for more info.

Very useful if you're doing a thesis on a particular subject or topic... just search for the topic, and it'll notify you via RSS feed when new books come to the library on your topic! .... I dont have a thesis paper yet, but when I do... I'll probably use this!

Another great tool for thesis research is RefWorks. When you're searching the catalogue or databases and find something on your topic, you can keep the citation in a folder designated for your thesis - no more scraps of paper (like I had to use and lose)!

If you are doing a thesis, you can also talk to a librarian. We offer one on one consultations for those doing theses - we can help you identify resources and teach you search tips and tricks. To find out who your librarian is check out this site.

Still not sure, let me know and I'll lead you to the right person

Thanks so much Krista!
I'm going to send an email to Amanda Etches-Johnson later on today...
