Second year advice PLEASE?!
Hey guys, I'm just looking for a bit of advice because I'm quite worried.

Because I was initially unsure of which major I wanted to pursue when I came into first year, I now find myself in a position where unfortunately I do not have the prerequisites for the program that I would like to get into eventually (Combined major- Gerontology and Cognitive Science of Language). There is now 7 or 8 first year courses I would need to take. Transitioning into university was definitely a little rough at first for me- and my marks suffered majorly. As a result I'm worried about only finishing first year with 24 units and a very low CA. Is it possible for me to ''re-do'' my first year, even if it sets me back a year in the long run? Overall I would just like a chance to take my missed courses and hopefully boost up my average as I do not think I will meet the 5.0 required average.

Thanks

You can re-do first year in the sense that you can take more first-year courses (but keep in mind that for most programs you can only have a maximum of 40 units of first-year courses), but you cannot erase the courses you have already done unless you fail out of school and are granted reinstatement.
You may be able to take more than 40 units of first-year courses and just have some not count towards your degree, but they'll typically still count towards your CA. You should ask an advisor from your faculty about that.

If you are looking for advice you should go to your faculty academic adviser first.
