Last year, there was one award per approximately (rounding up for .5):
6 artsci students
7 health sci students
18 science students
37 business students
38 engineering students
40 humanities students
52 social science students
The allotment of these awards seems pretty ridiculous, from these numbers: they allot 3 times more awards per student for artscis than science students, nearly 7 times as many to artscis than engineering students, and nearly 9 times more awards to artscis than social science students. (Note: I'm not trying to pick out artscis here -- the same applies to healthscis, the ratio is very slightly smaller) -- as for the "grade requirements are lower for eng/humanities/social science" argument: yes, that's true, but that's not very convincing, since it can be taken equally well as a reflection of the relative difficulties of getting those marks in those programs (not saying I necessarily agree with this, only that the facts don't unambiguously support either argument).

It tends to increase every year. The year before last, the cutoff for the Hooker scholarship was 11.4; last year it was 11.6. Senate went from 10.6 to 11 (I'm not sure about the 10.6 figure, maybe it was 10.9 -- in any case, it went up).
