Pretty much what the pic looks like. During the Throne speech a page held up a "Stop Harper" sign and was escorted out (and fired).

What a waste. They get paid for their menial service, not to mention they get to sit in on parliament every day. How many people apply to that job, I wonder? I wouldn't throw away that opportunity, as much as I also dislike the harper government.

I didn't want Harper to be PM but now that I think of it, scrapping long guns registry is a good idea.

Girl sent out a press release. Something about wanting to start an Arab Spring in Canada.

That's definitely true. I mean, I admire the fact that she expressed her opinion, but that could have been done in a million and one different ways without her losing the job or the chance to sit in on parliament.

Apparently reporters asked Harper to comment about the page's protest and this was his response to her . Skip to 10.

When I read her argument, I noticed that she said the majority of Canadians did not vote for Harper. Well... my question to her is why are there multiple left leaning parties? Just because something is considered left leaning doesn't mean they have the same ideas and platforms. The Liberals do not like the NDP as much as some people would like to believe. This is just a generalization on her part. Why not in the next election, they get all left leaning citizens to vote for either the liberals, or the NDP? because they won't. These parties show the diversity in Canada and the difference between us and the two party system in the U.S.

Hear Hear. Along those lines, let's split the Conservative party again into the Alliance and PCs, in the name of diversity of options, with the added bonus of no conservative leaning party in Canada will have a chance at obtaining office again.
I think it's fair to say that the majority of NDP voters would prefer a Liberal government over a Conservative, and I would assume more Liberal voters would prefer NDP over Con.The biggest problem we have right now is that the public refuses to push to change the voting system from first past the post to MMP. The lack of "diversity" on anything right of the liberals is the best thing that's ever happened for conservatism in Canada.

If the majority of conservative members want this, followed by a vote of party members, then this is fine. However, the majority of conservatives decided it was best to merge both the alliance and PCs for the good of conservatives nationally. I can't see the NDP and Liberals merging any time soon. The Liberals have a lot of problems that they have to fix, and the NDP find the Liberals too conservative. (haha)
