Sept 6th.
So.... classes begin Sept 6th! (unless im mistaken)
Wow, a thursday eh? I guess that's going to be interesting. Is everyone excited? I guess it's just going to be the day we start going to our classes and it will pick up from there. Just feels odd starting on thursday .
Im pretty nervous and excited at the same time.

For me, Thursday is a rather overwhelming day for starting classes. I have 7 classes that day. Ahh! Pretty intense for my first day of university.
Oh well. I'm excited either way.

Indeed. I want to get this year started and over with!
I have a feeling I'm going to hate Thursdays, though. I've got two classes in a row which adds up to five consecutive hours! Ugh.

REMEMBER: You don't need to go to your tutorials until you've had at least one lecture (sometimes more). Your Profs will remind you of this.
And don't be too nervous, you'll be chatting on MSN and playing solitaire in class before you know it.

Do alot of people bring their laptops to class, and is there wireless internet?

The majority of lecture halls have wireless internet access, but there are a few that don't. It's amazing how many people bring their laptops to class nowadays. Next time you're sitting in a big lecture hall, try to tune out the prof and just listen to the sound of hundreds of people typing at the same time. It's pretty crazy!

It all depends on how you like to take notes. Some people print the notes off before class and add their own during the lecture while others have the lecture notes open on their laptop and type extra notes.
Also, there is wireless internet in a lot of the classrooms, but not all of them. If you have a class in MDCL, there will definately be wireless but I am not sure about some of the other buildings.

Do all classes, or most of them, provide you with lecture notes??

You do not go to labs or tutorials the first week.
To answer your question Kevin, it really depends. Some courses give you all of the notes, and some give you nothing at all; you just have to write whatever the prof is saying.
Typically, classes in the sciences and engineering have more classes that have notes available (ie you can see and print them either before or after the class) than classes in humanities and social sciences.
