Seriously worried..
I applied to some second year programs where the minimum requirement is a 6.0 in some relevant courses. My lowest mark in my first year was an 8, until I discovered a 5 on my grade report after logging onto MUGSI today. I am seriously worried that I won't be able to get into any of the second year programs I've applied for..

Any advice on what I should do? Are the numbers I see on my grade report truly the final marks?
I have no idea where to go from here on out and I don't think I've ever felt this bad in my entire life.

many of them require an average between 2 specific courses. for example you need a 6 average between bio 1a03 and 1m03. check the programs you applied to specifically if it states that.

It says, "A grade of at least C+ in four of Biology 1A03, 1M03, Chem 1A03, 1AA3 and either Math 1A03 or 1LS3 is required."

): I don't think they meant an average..

To me that looks like they're making two possible sets of courses:

(Biology 1A03, 1M03, Chem 1A03, 1AA3, Math 1A03)
and
(Biology 1A03, 1M03, Chem 1A03, 1AA3, Math 1LS3)

and you need to have earned at least a C+ in at least four courses in at least one of those sets. Which course did you get a 5 in?

I think you might be looking at some outdated info. This is what I'm seeing for Honours Life Sci:

Admission

Completion of any Level I program with a Cumulative Average of at least 6.0 including:

3 units from MATH 1A03, 1LS3
12 units BIOLOGY 1A03, 1M03, PSYCH 1X03 (or 1AA3), 1XX3 (or 1A03) with an average of at least 6.0
9 units from Life Sciences I Course List (See Admission Notes above.)

Source

Edit: Just realized you may be referring to some other programs, namely Honours Biochem. If so, ignore what I said because it doesn't apply to Biochem. I believe Andrew is right.

If that ^ is the right info (looks like it is), then it definitely looks like you are 100% good to go. Don't worry.

I got a 5 in Chem 1AA3, which pretty much means I should lose all hope, doesn't it? ... ):
And the program I really want to get into is Biochem, Biomed specialization, sorry for being unclear guys.

Ohmygod, I'm so nervous right now, this is crazy.

how did u do in chem 1a03? maybe you can take biochem courses over the summer or orgo and do well in them....

if you did well in 1a03, or do well in summer chem courses you could go to them and be like it was a fluke incident and im actually decent at it so could i get a wavier and be let into the program regardless of that one bad mark

If I'm understanding the requirements correctly, shouldn't you meet them? It says you need at least C+ in at least four of the courses listed, which I presume you have since you only got less than a C+ in Chem 1AA3.

I thought it meant I had to have at least 6 in all four Bio 1A03, 1M03, Chem 1A03, 1AA3 courses and at least a 6 in either Math 1A03 or 1L03?
Did I maybe misunderstand the sentence? Does anyone know for sure?? )':

No, if you copy and pasted that sentence up there then the way Andrew A interpreted it was right. If there was a semi colon before the and then your interpretation would be correct, but since there is no semi colon (or even comma) then Andrew A is right.

Oh my god, saved by math...
Thank you so much for explaining this! I'm so relieved, you don't even know. @[email protected]

Thanks everyone, for the help!
