What should I do? Advise needed
I am currently studying Software Eng ( second year ).
And I just find out this is not the program I am interested.
I considered transferring to Mathematics or Finance, but i do see that the transferring requirement is an average grade of 6. my first year's grade is 5.4 and 4 for the second year so far... so don't know what I should do now, transferring to an other university is even harder as I known now. But the feeling keep going with the program that I don't really like terrible.
Looking for advises~!
Thank you

Talk to Jean in switching if that's what you want. Try a minor in business.
More and more businesses are hiring engineers over business. You can still do both when you graduate.

Ya, good idea transferring to math or finance.. You know, software is one of the most ridiculous fields of engineering that does not study pretty much anything except completely abstract man-made logic.
BEFORE YOU START THE HATE, I AM DOING THIS TO MAKE HIM FEEL GOOD
You can get into cryptography/acturial science and work in actuary/ be a teacher/ be a number theorist, solve the riemann hypothesis, win a milllion dollar, or any of the millenium problems in mathematics and many cool stuff with a degree in math. It was definitely something I considered right out of high school between Math and Eng, decided eng as it is mathy and sciency, and I did not know what the hell I was doing with my life...
Software? Oooh, a lot of dogshit compiled into making it a program.
So, what I suggest? Take a year of completely math courses only. I mean literally like Linear Algebra II, III, (You can get into them directly as you have 1Zc3), and many other math courses that you can enter through engineering with base on mathematics. 2 or more complementary electives and other degree requirements.., that way, you study what you love(Oooh, numbers), boost the gpa up to a 6, and then transfer into second or third year of math program. Math at Mac is awesome, the faculty is small, professors are great, and you learn numbers, and not some dogshit! You can take 15 units of electives, it is utterly crazy.., you already have the requiremnts for entering second year directly. You can pretty much take Math 1C03,(The ONLY course you are lacking from 1st year). My suggestion? Go for it!

Do you even go to this university? Not so long ago you were asking about engineering programs.

I do not recommend students who are doing bad in other faculties to go to Commerce. The main reason is that your GPA is sub-par at best and when you come over you will be competing with students who have 10's-11's for internships, beyond that you will have to be involved to get anywhere...
Why not stay in eng, if you stick it out, I am sure you can find jobs that are more quantitative but business related. Quants, who are people who deal with the architecture of financial models are usually eng/math/comp sci majors.
The cost of time to go back to year 1, to get to the same place you are now at (year 2), you could have been finished your Eng degree. Usually commerce transfer is a 7-8 and only super keen students are able to do well.
