The show must go on
The front page story in The Silhouette today, with the dramatic photo of Joel Leavitt seen to the right, confirms what we had been discussing in earlier posts after the voting results were
posted up on MacInsiders, and had been
discussed in the MacInsiders forums. Joel Leavitt will be appealing his disqualification. Furthermore, it is official that the CRO, Mike Tuffs, has resigned from his position. Mike was very supportive of MacInsiders and our campaign coverage, and we wish him the best of luck.
Any candidate has until 5:00pm on Friday February 15th, 2008 (today) to submit any appeals to the Elections Committee. Details regarding the appeal and/or disqualification remain confidential. There's no word on how long the appeal could take, but Jerimi Jones will hold his position as President-elect until told otherwise.
While there has been unofficial mention of a recount due to the very close ballot margins between J Jones and Kasmani, officially
no announcement has been made. If one is made, it'll be posted on the Elections site
here.
In the meantime, no official news has come from the Elections Committee since the
official announcement on Joel's disqualification. So unless something big happens, it's Jerimi Jones who will be your next MSU President, McMaster. Welcome him with open arms! And be sure to read his message to all MacInsiders readers
here.
We plan on having a video interview with Jerimi in the near future, which he has graciously agreed to, so look for it soon!
