Social Science 2Q03
An interesting class that is relevant to our everyday lives. I enjoyed the content and the instructor, dr. voros, is very strong and passionate.
Midterm =50%
Final = 50% * Non cumulative
I did not like the mark breakdown but the exams are not that difficult. The lectures are podcasted. I attended all of the lectures for the midterm and took good notes, however, I did not do as well as i would have liked to on midterm. For the exam, I missed a lot of classes and I ended up having to listen to 20 hrs of lectures before the exam. Not the best situation but my exam schedule afforded me one week to do this and I personally think that it helped me a great deal in the end because the questions based on what the profs says, word for word.
Anyways, a good course with a light workload - and it counts for the sociology degree.

comes all from the lecture material. there is no formal textbook, just two courseware's and a book. Anything that is covered in those texts are covered in lecture. Nothing further.

I actually really like it so far! We just had a midterm yesterday, and it wasn't bad at all! All you have to do is just read all the required readings and go over her lecture notes, so minimal studying required!! I just don't like 3 hour long classes because I find it hard to concentrate after the first hour and a half :(! But so far, the topics are REALLY interesting! Definitely take it!

Thanks for the reply and info! It seems like a course I'd like but I'm hesitant because there's only a midterm and exam for evaluation. Ya I'm the same way with 3 hour classes, luckily it's during the day this coming year so it's broken up into 50 minute lectures.
