i have a question..in first year i was registered as an engineer but switched to science early in the year. technically, the whole year i was still an engineer (on solar and such) but all of my possible options for 2nd year are math & stats programs. so is my date for registering going to be Monday (the Science II day) or Tuesday (Engineering II day)?

If you're still registered as an Engineer then SOLAR think you're still one, and will open on the appropriate day for Engineering. If you're still registered under the wrong program, I suggest you change it before SOLAR opens. Call your faculty.

				Question

I know how to do my course selection and all that on SOLAR (going into second year) but how do i select my program? Like how to i register for one of the programs i got accepted to? is that done AFTER i register for courses? anyone know?

P.S. i love how it's impossible to get on MUGSI right now...

It's the first thing you do when you log on. You're asked to pick your program for the following year...you pick one...and then there you go!

It's 2 am and I've been trying to get on SOLAR since midnight, but I think I'm going to call it a night. I can log into mugsi, but was never successful in getting into the actual gateway either because it was full or because of this error:

I've tried 4 different browsers on two different operating systems with no luck (and this issue is not even loading SOLAR, but MUGSI). Hopefully it'll work in the morning.

Yep, I second what Sarah13 said. I had so much trouble getting into SOLAR around midnight. So, I gave up and got up in the morning at about 6:30 and I finished registration in about 5 minutes!

Bummer guys, sounds like SOLAR is getting really busy with second years now picking their courses. Keep trying and let us know when you get in - remember, everyone is going to try and get in at midnight so your chances of getting in are low. If you wait until morning when everyone has gone to sleep or given up, you have a better chance. However... waiting till morning could mean that some courses you wanted to take could be full by then from the people that got in at midnight.

i finally got on at 3:56AM, and i wasnt able to register in ANY of the first year elective courses i wanted to take, did anyone else have this problem? They were all listed as "FULL"

what im wondering is if they were all "FULL" to begin with and will be open after the first years have finished registering, or if they alot say 100 spots for non-first years, and those spots are all filled now?

If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated, otherwise i'll have to wait on hold for an hour to call the office of the registrar this afternoon.

specifically: Kin 1y03/1yy3, healthst 1a03 and geront 1a03

I'm not sure how it works for seats that are for non-first year students. First years don't start registering yet, so they may be holding seats for them so all the upper years can't fill their courses. Not sure. Keep trying when SOLAR opens up for the first year students. If its still full, you may be out of luck. Calling the registrar/faculty would be your next option.

Yep, there is a certain amount held for first years since they register last. In my first year I expressed my concerns at not having any room for the first years if we're the last ones to register but I was assured that there would be room for us and if it was mandatory that we be in that class and it was full there would be a seat made for you.

I don't think you need to worry, you just need to wait until the first years have registered and then you can most likely take it if it's not already full.

I got on at around 12:30 this morning and was registering and when it came to registering for MMEDIA 2E03 it said it was already full and wouldn't let me select it. Since I have chosen to do Honours Multimedia this wasn't just an elective and actually a course I need to take. It also says I only have until July 1st to select all my courses, now I only have 9 selected. How would I go about fixing this issue.

I remember reading somewhere on here about somewhere you could contact about this but I don't remember where.

If I don't get in by July 1st should I just select another course so I pay for all 10 and then wait until Solar reopens and keep trying to get in. It's Graphic Design so I'm assuming it's popular, but I really need a spot.
