Solar
I received an email saying that Solar will be open to first year students starting on the 27th, however that is only to peolple who are in social sciences; it's open to eng, health sci and nursing students on the 29th. Is there any way that I could log into Solar on Monday the 27th to pick my electives because I'm worried that I will not get into Econ 1B03 and not be elligible for the management program in second year for engineering, or will I have to wait until the 29th .. ?

Hi,

Unfortunately you will have to wait unil your regristration date. Don't worry though, if you can't register for your course and it is required, they will most likely give you a seat.

You'd have to wait till the 29th, but I wouldn't worry about it at all, econ is a pretty large class with many seats (people always add and drop classes all the time also, so a spot might open that way). Plus you could always potentially email the prof or such to try and get into the class if you couldn't get in.

Even if Econ 1B03 and 1BB3 (which are both necessary for the management program) are full, they will open a seat for you if you tell them you need it for Eng. and Management or Business Informatics.

That's what they did for me.

If it is required for your program you will get in. Don't worry

If you don't get in, you could always email them asking for a seat in the class.

Edit: I think Solar/Mugsi is the most common topic for threads in this forum.

Econ 1B03 is offered both terms as well as night class I believe, so don't worry! And besides, the majority of the seats are reserved for first year students and besides, each class has like 600 people. At the worst situation, you could always ask for a seat to be opened since the course is required

I just signed into MUGSI to check my schedule forgetting that students are trying to sign up for their courses (mine doesn't open until June 16th so I forgot that it opens earlier for other programs). I got in on the first try! How did that happen! I usually have to wait 6 hours (like everyone else) before MUGSI lets me in. WEIRD.

Does timing really matter all that much? I keep (successfully) logging in at 4-5 am and I'm in instantly...

What time does solar open up to the Eng. Students on the 29th? Like 12 am?
