SOLAR discussion
SOLAR Re-Opens Tomorrow
By Chad Fullerton

SOLAR will be re-opening tomorrow and that means you can resume making changes to your schedule/timetable. For those who showed as having conflicts with their classes on the timetable, you will be able to go back into SOLAR and make changes to your course selection (altering the section time if available, or picking a different class if there are no other alternatives). SOLAR will let you change your core classes, tutorials, and labs, you aren't 'locked in' with the core classes you picked earlier.

Note that since everyone will be trying to get back into SOLAR the system will most likely be running slowly. Be patient, and if you do plan on changing your courses, have a plan ahead of time with what you're going to do. Go to the Master Course Timetable and look at the alternate sectioning choices you have and write them down, pick some favourite alternative times/sections/classes you may want to switch into. If you do this properly you should be able to re-organize your schedule and have it almost perfectly planned out with no conflicts right before you go into SOLAR. Refer to our previous article on class selection tips.

I still cannot view my time table. This is not because it is constantly receiving Proxy error - because when i try to access it at the right time - i get an error message saying I do not have permission to veiw my time table.

This is too weird - i've done my payment aggrement and everything that I was suppose to.. anyone know whats the matter? I have emailed Mac.

BTW when does SOLAR close? It can't just be open tommrow right?

hopefully SOLAR will be up and running in the next few minutes (it's nearly 8AM). however, this is a new program for EVERYONE, not just first year students so sadly we can't give any definitive answers yet either.

  • ok so now i keep getin this..

The maximum allowable number of students are currently using MUGSI. Each student has a 45 minute time limit. Please try again later.
  • Grade reports and personal undergraduate timetables are available via the MUGSI Gateway page under the "Student Applications" list.

do you still have your confirmation numbers?

if so, call the office of the registrar, and ask what's going on, explaining you paid and you have proof (confirmation number)

SOLAR
If it says that MUGSI is at it's maximum, thats because all the slots in MUGSI are full so you need to wait until somebody logs out or times out (45 minutes and they will get kicked out). So just keep trying and you'll get in soon enough Remember to have everything planned out with what you want to change to save time.

Note: If it says you don't have access to SOLAR, it could be because you made a change recently to your Payment Agreement, which is causing people to temporarily not be able to get back into SOLAR
