so how come for some courses i can pick my tutorial i want and the class when i want,but others i cant?

that's just how it works. in late august you will be able to change tutorials and core sections to whatever you want (if it's not full)

Other courses are bigger which means some people may only be able to fit into one core while others may be able to fit in multiple cores. SOLAR will automatically assign sections so that as many people can take the course as possible. Then on the 13th, you can change sections if space permits.

when i login SOLAR first time, i found i cannot choose any core, lab or tutorial. when can i choose them for the first time and when can i modify them(the exact date) for life science I??

You will be able to switch sections when SOLAR re-opens on August 13th.
