Holy fuuck, really?
a) It's COMMERCE.
b) Good philosophy. "I'm not ready for this, let's just put it off till I grow some goddamn balls and get my shit together!"

Defering exams is a very bad habit to get into. Deadlines are not only part of your university education (your piece of paper demonstrates a lot more than simply what courses you've taken, but also what skills/abilities you've learned including time management), but it also helps prevent the snowballing effect. e.g. If you're worried that you'll get below A- on this material, are you that confident you'll get higher than A- on the final exam without this extra midterm as practice?
A good rule of thumb is, you should defer the exam if you genuinely feel that you're at some sort of disadvantage because of health reasons. (Including emotional or mental health) So if you've got a bad migraine and genuinely can't study, that's a reason to put it off, but then you should probably get checked by a doctor.

Be a man, do the right thing.
Submit an MSAF form to defer. Google something like "Mcmaster MSAF." Be sure to tell your prof that you deferred it. Then he/she decides where the weight is transferred. In some cases, profs are a real betch and make you hand in the assignment or w/e regardless.
Study and take the midterm though. Srs.
