The point of doing it in November is because November is a miserable month, with awful weather, lots of work to be done, and therefore it's more of a challenge

So claims Chris Baty. Though I've become rather fond of it myself.

Sounds pretty cool though I am certain my novel would end up being an incomprehensible mess.

I suspect that is how anyone's novel would end up after just a month on it.
The real fun begins in the revision of your Frankenstein.

^ Agreed. (Although, I have yet to touch any of my NaNo novels xD) The point of NaNo is really to get those words out of your head, and onto paper (or word document, whatever). That's really the first, and arguably, the most essential step to writing a novel!
NaNoWriMo also has posts some great articles after november, giving you advice on how to revise and such.

Oh, yeah. You have people who begin writing liyike this in november tand they don't care and they're still staisfied with the thign they end uwp with because it's a novel. I, personally, can't let slip any typos. O_____o But it depends.
It's heckuva lot of fun, though.
EDIT: T___T These typos were made for the sake of proving a point, just FYI. Not because I...have two left hands or whatever. xD

I did this 3 years ago (I was in Grade 11) but stop the next year. Unfortunately, I lost the novel I wrote so I couldn't edit it or re-read it. I think I'll do this again this year.

I would have but at that time, I was using an old computer I was sharing with my sister and that computer broke down. I didn't get to save all my files. My dad disassembled that computer and used it on to assemble new computers.

That's punny! And don't you dare say you didn't expect that, LOL.
Anyway, I'd suggest you still try it out. I know how freakin' hard first year eng is, but you don't HAVE to win. Just write as much as you can, and it would be an extra xxxx words you would not otherwise have written.

the puns... make them stop!
once you get started, you'll get better at finding little chunks of time here and there that end up being pretty valuable in the long run.
