How are people finding all these summer jobs in research already? I've been looking around for something that is related to science in Toronto, and haven't been very lucky. I met this girl who goes to school in the states, but lives in Toronto and she already has a summer job in Sunnybrook. I looked at there websites and couldn't find anything... am i going about this the wrong way? People are always saying to e-mail the profs. and e-mail the researchers, but how are we supposed to find this information? Any advice is appreciated..

You can speak to your professors during office hours about these things. However, you can also head over to Career Services and they can help you search for research positions as well. When you utilize OSCAR (the online job search engine for McMaster) you can type in research and several things will pop up. Keep in mind that these positions are highly sought over. If you're gonna be heading over to a Toronto position keep in mind that you might have UofT students competing for it as well or students from other universities. You might want to speak to someone at the Career Services department about how to improve your resume or cover letter just to make it stand out from the crowd.
