heey you guys...
so i was wondering about summer courses....so from the previous post ive seen that we can start applyin for summer skool mid-march....and thats for mcmaster...
wat about for other universities...we'd know through their websites??
another questions..wat ar the disadvantages of taking summer skool at another university rather than mcmaster?

And advantage and disadvantage to taking a course at another school is that you only get a mark of completion, so long as you get over 60%. Thus the mark doesn't count for your overall average.
If you're thinking about doing any post-grad stuff you have to request transcripts from the other schools as their grades aren't reflected on the Mac transcript.
As for finding their course selection dates...you could always email their respective Registrar's Office.

can someone please tell me exactly how i go about registering for a summer school course in another school....i plan to take first year french at uoft since mac isn't offering it during the summer terms

On the summer school schedule it only offers the 1Z04 and 1ZZ5 courses during the day, won't this be a huge issue to people who actually have to work in the summer? Does anyone know if they might offer another course in the evening?

they can't please everyone. With eng, there are many courses which students want to take in summer school, physics, chem, math, etc
They can't offer multiple sections due to demand. And they can't have all night classes due to the increase in conflicts.
I doubt they'd offer an evening section, since the timetables are finalized I think. |

Question about midterm dates for Term 2
Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of what week in July that midterms for Term 2 of summer school that the midterms will be occurring. I realize that it is class dependent but usually they are somewhat predictable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to the sessional dates:

Most exams for the Spring Term are this week (June 15 - 19), so exams for the Summer term would most likely be the week of August 3 to 7, on whichever of the days you have lecture for that course. |

Midterms
Thank you very much. I realize that, however. That is when the FINALS for the summer term will be, that is term 2 of summer. I was wondering when the MIDterms will be for term 2. They would be somewhere in July, perhaps mid-july?

haha oops! I really need to read instead of skim. It really does vary from course to course, but to provide some perspective, the midterm of the course I just took in the Spring Term was in the third week (2nd day of the two weekly lecture slots), while a friend in another course had his on the 2nd slot of his 4th week. Hope that helps you more!

Well like you said they are extremely class dependent so if you're class is only going to have one midterm, then I suppose it would be in the middle of the term lol So the week of July 13th-17th? If I did the math right. I have one on the 16th (I know now because my class is the whole summer).
