Summer School
I was just wondering if you take summer school at another university I heard that the mark doesn't count towards your CA. Is this true? And what effect does this have when applying to graduate schools? Would it still count for grad schools?

Yes, it won't appear on your McMaster CA.

If you apply to graduate schools you have to provide transcripts from all the schools you took courses at. They calculate your average using all the courses.

As far as I heard it doesnt count toward your CA but it DOES count towards professional school and depending grad school. Be careful what courses you take though if you re looking at professional school. ( And yes I realize you said grad school but just in case i wanted to make the distinction)

Sorry I did mean professional school. Would professisonal schools frown upon you cause you took a course at a different university? What kind of courses would they not approve of? I want to take the equivalent of Bio1A03 at University of Toronto- Scarborough Campus in the summer for I am not permitted to take that during the year at mac so would this be a wise decision?

When I e-mailed waterloo's optometry program, they didn't seem to mind. I asked them if it was possible to take a course at another university and they said it was fine and that they would pull up the transcript when I applied.

The only thing I can tell you is that you should contact the professional schools yourself. Not all schools accept summer courses.
