Summer School First Year Easy Courses
Hi
I am actually in a dilemma right now after talking with few people. I am a first year student and am planning to take 2 summer school courses in the first term. one is physics1b03 and the other course I was thinking bout was enviro1a03.

I know I would have to focus clearly on physics and that it would require good amount of practice. Therefore I wanted a course where I would have more theory and presumably less pressure.

I had enviro1b03 this term and liked the concept of labs and term paper counting towards a big chunk of final mark.

however talking with few people i was told to not take enviro1a03 which I had considered would be a good mark. Does anyone know why should I take or not take this course? As in pros and cons of it.

Could someone also suggest courses which would be interesting and would require more theory and writing.
=)
thnx for ur patience...

I suggest you check out our course reviews section, because it will give you some insight into the courses.

Psych 1AA3 was pretty easy.

There were two assignments and the tests were multiple choice.

If you want to take Enviro 1A03, I suggest you take it with John M during the school year. I believe he'll make the materials so much easier to learn from and thus, make your life much less stressful.

I definitely enjoyed his class.

Take what interests you and check who's teaching it.

I had Envir 1A03 (FYI I'm IN the Environmental program and I want to specialize in Hydrology and Climatology) but without John M teaching, it would've been much harder. I only did great on the midterm and exam because John pretty much tells us exactly what is on it. There are a lot of complex concepts and will also be harder if you aren't at all interested in the material. Envir 1G03 was MUCHHH easier.

Enviro is not really a bird course. I found the material dry and the prof always would introduce something and would say "I'll talk about it later" so I couldn't just sit and absorb information. This course stressed me out the most this term.

Psych 1AA3 (now Psych 1xx3) is not bird either... post midterm- you have to do a lot of memorization (and we weren't even tested on it even though it was testable material.)

I recommend Multimedia 1A03. It was the least stressful course thus far in my university career and it does not matter if you are good with computers, as long as you have the right requirements (like using a certain font) for an assignment, you get the mark

I had Psych1xx3 this term. And yea I was looking for something during summer school..so i wouldn't know who's teaching the course until quite sometime..
How about economics? Is it a good course?..i haven't taken any business courses yet and was thinking if I should try b03 as i heard it was easy..
Also is there any way I could know who's teaching summer school courses?

Hey, I saw that you've taken Enviro 1B03 and I couldn't find the course review for this course. I was thinking of taking it this coming summer semester and i was wondering if it was easy or not. Also, there are no labs for the summer semester, would you know how the format would be for the summer in comparison to the regular school semester? And what exactly do you do for the term paper and labs?

Thanks!

hey
env1b03 was a good course didn't require a lot of work. As long as you had your noted complete and took some extra notes during discussions in the class you woudl be fine. I had it with Dr. Luc Bernier..he was good. Labs were a good mark booster. Probably u would hav assignemtns instead..it'a a good course eventhough some topics maybe really dry.
