Not the case. It's six one-hour lectures compacted into two three-hour classes.
So really, if your summer course is comprised of two three-hour lectures per week, you're doing two weeks in one week (assuming that in the Fall/Winter, said course has three lectures per week, which is true for many if not most courses). Same material generally, but shorter time frame, which is why you can only take 2 courses per Spring/Summer term unless you apply for an overload.
It's not easier in all cases, but it's doable. I think you'll be fine, Lizzie.
