But what would be the weapon of choice if not guns. Surely you would want something with range so that your not getting to close to the zombie, but something like a spear would spell instant death for you if more than 2 came at you. and a bow and arrow is out of quetion since you would surely run out of arrows when it came down to one zombie Something like a long sword, but it would need to be light... dual machetes anybody? haha

I would probably try to group up with some survivors and run to the nearest Costco. They have almost everything you need, plus those huge Warehouse doors that are probably pretty hard to break through

In terms of reusable ranged weapons - boomerangs anyone?

Lmao never thought of a costco, thats actually hilarious and not a bad idea lol. And i think i would pass on the boomerang, dont see that one going too far;P haha i always thought that it would be best to never stay in one place for long periods of time. Always be on the move, never at night of course. But a few people could easily live in a costco for quite a few years!

ummmmmmmmmmm correct me if im wrong but arent zombies technically the undead? strictly speaking in the sci-fi manner. so could you really kill them with guns/swords/spears. sure maybe a volley of gunfire might shred them to peices but in my head i imagine them just pushing back if they were to be speared. I doubt that whole formation thing would work?

Everyone knows you stay away from malls and shopping centres, they're the first place people go when they're panicked and need to stock up on food...

i would go...

1c, 2a, 3b, 4a, 5a(or d)

frankly 2a and 3b would be more than ideal for weapons seeing as anything from 1 is pointless to lug around especially since ur bound to run out of bullets quick.

and i may go for 5d just to get to an uninhabited, or an isolated island of sorts,... cus well everyone knows zombies cant swim!!!

1d, 2b, 3d assuming it cuts through flesh with ease. the machete i would see getting stuck in the zombie and leaving yourself open for an attack if there is more than one. 4d, and 5d. Would never choose a flashlight because the batteries would die, and anyways it could give away your position. A boat for a vehicle because im assuming that zombies cant swim. choosing the shotty in the first category cuz of the spray that the shells have. then a submachine gun mini uzi with my b pick so i can still mow them down if a swarm come.

Assuming you can run forward, shoot backwards, reload the shotgun when out, and pump it each time (if it is a pump action shotgun). I've made a few assumptions in my last sentence as well, mind you.

EDIT:
For me it'd be the following, though I haven't put too much thought into it yet:
1c, 2b/c, 3b 4d and 5a/d

Pretty sure that would go for any of the guns, and all guns need to be reloaded, so what you said holds no bearing on my gun selection from category 1.

I was talking about this "so i can still mow them down if a swarm come.". An assault rifle should in theory, be much easier to reload assuming you have magazines ready to go when you go out on a rampage.

What is the point of a silenced pistol when zombies track off the scent of blood? i dont think it matters if they hear you shoot, they are going to find you regardless. And choosing a car will be of no use when the gas runs out. plus you are limiting yourself to a land area that is already inhabited by the zombies. as stated earlier, the best bet is the boat so that you can go to an uninhabited island where you can try building a home.
