Swimming Pool + The Pulse
Hey everyone,

Has anyone used the swimming pool at Mac? I haven't used it at all and I want to try getting the most use out of my supplementary fees.

How exactly do I get to the Pool and are there separate changerooms for swimming or is it the same change room that is behind the main Squash courts in DBAC? And does that change room lead to the pool, or do I have to go to IWC somewhere?

How crowded is it? I've read that when it's open it's usually only lengths, is there a max. number of people allowed at a time?

Regarding the Pulse, when can you register? I know you can register online, but when does in-person registration start? This year I want to get a locker (can't rent those online), but I hear they go pretty quick.

Thanks

I've used the swimming pool at Mac, it gets pretty crowded when ti's the open swim times.
The changerooms are the same ones and you can get to the pool from them. The door that leads to the pool is at the opposite end of where you go in. Past the showers.
I can't remember if it's only lengths. I think that it depends on the days, cause one time that I went I was allowed to go off the diving board but another time their was a practice in the other half of the pool for water polo or something I can't really remember.
I don't know about the Pulse registration stuff. Sorry.

For pulse registration you just go to the athletic center and fill out some forms and pay your membership. Regarding lockers I believe it's $25 for the school year.

So, just wondering, we pay 102$ through supplementary fees for Athletics and Recreation and another 102$ if we want to use the Pulse right?

Yes, access to Ath & Rec. is included automatically in your supplementary fees (not sure if it's $102). If you click on the links Chad posted I'm sure it'll tell you that with that you can use the squash courts, courts for basketball/tennis/badminton (depends on time of day I think), access to the indoor track and also the pool.

For an extra $102 you can purchase a pulse membership for 8 months (this is A LOT cheaper than regular gyms)
