How To Switch From SocSci To Business?
Hi guys! I'm currently in social sciences and I want to know what courses I need to take (and stuff like that) to switch programs into business (commerce)?

Argh. I'm having a lot of trouble picking courses. No idea where to start still.

Thanks~!

Well what do you know i'm not the only one in the same boat. After I contacted McMaster about the same subject and with the help of others on the forums you need the following:

􀁄6 Units: Economics 1A06 OR both Economics 1B03 and 1BB3
􀁄3 Units: Computer Science 1SA3 OR Computer Science 1TA3 OR Computer Science
1MA3 OR Multimedia 1A03 OR Engineering 1D04
􀁄3 Units: Math 1M03 OR 1A03 OR 1LS3 OR 1X03 OR 1Z04
􀁄3-6 Units: Anthropology 1A03, Geography 1HA3, Psychology 1X03 or Sociology 1A06
• Math 1F03 OR Math 1K03 (for those without Ontario Calculus & Vectors)
Math 1F03 for those students with a grade of at least 80% in
MHF4U Advanced Functions
Math 1K03 for those students with a grade of 79% or less in
MHF4U Advanced Functions
• If OAC Finite or Mathematics of Data Management U was not completed or your credit
in Finite is older than 5 years, Stats 1L03 must be completed.
• Students who have successfully completed Stats 1CC3 will be exempt from Stats 1L03.

Hope that helps

Pretty much you're just going to "shadow" the 1st year business requirements and then you'll be able to switch into 2nd year next year.

Problem bolded:
It let me registered for Math 1F03 even though my final functions mark is 53%... what the hell? It wouldn't let me register for the other one...?

See this page: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1881.html

From what I understand...1K03 is for students who haven't taken gr 12 functions and calc while 1F03 is for students who haven't taken calc. Yes?

***

And it won't let me take COMP SCI 1BA3...or any of the Commerce courses...how do I shadow a business student then!? OMGGGG

stick with 1f03, it will be easier as you will get use to Dr Mcleans style of tests. For the Comp Sci course you have to take Comp Sci 1TA3 which is equivalent to the business Comp sci.

Well as long as you got the credit, I guess

I'd email the academic advisor in the business faculty for clarification.
I'm not sure you can actually switch directly into Commerce II without being in Business I

Its possible i was accepted to the program but i received an offer from Ivey. Just do all the courses listed above, get a 10 average and your pretty much guaranteed a spot.

10 average out of what... and is this grade point average?

who do i have to tell that i want to switch programs? :/

SO I JUST take the courses posted above? so i DON"T need to take the commerce courses required by Business I students? Uhhh and it's completely okey for me to NOT take the COMP SCI 1BA3? I just take either 1SA3, 1TA3, or 1MA3??

What's...the difference....

EDIT//

I took gr 12 data management in gr 11 and I got a 50% final mark (crappy, I know)...so I don't have to take the STATS 1L03, right? As long as I have the credit...?

THANKS~!
