switching into a new program in upper years
I'm thinking of switching into Social psychology from regualar psychology. I'm wondering how does the process work? Do they look at GPA's from the past 3 years and take an average ( its going to be my 4th year at Mac but I have enough credits for 3rd year) or do they calculate every single course I've taken and take an average of that. I'm confused

Also, is social psych a "competitive program"?

First you need to check if you qualify for the program in the first place - would you have the required courses to get into social psych if you were in first year? Also, the best way to get the right information is to email or go meet with the undergraduate academic advisor of the social psych program. They are the best connections you can make because they navigate the system. This means that if they decide they want you as a student - you will be considered to be much more competitive for the program! Good luck!
