It's none of my business to get into your personal choices/decisions, but do you know that kind of jobs are there for engineers? You said that "engineering is not the type of job i want to pursue", but how would you know that? Unless you had some sort of experience working in engineering, then you can't know for sure if engineering is the right career for you.
I wouldn't consider first year eng to be real "engineering", wait until you get into your upper years, then you will have an idea of what engineering really is (this could also be through coop/internships).
About switching over to another program, i would just go to the faculty/department and ask them, they should be able to help you out.
This is irrelevant, but I noticed that you went to stm, in that case, you should be prepared for first year
Stm is a pretty tough school, most people who come from stm do well in engineering. I am not saying stm is the best school on the mountain, or that people who come from there are naturally smart. I just feel that stm prepares you well for first year university.
Good luck with your studies
Engineering is a great program! Remember to think really hard before switching to another program.
