Is it possible to switch from life science to commerce and do something like a biology minor?

You can switch into commerce then I think you need to take some bio courses as your electives and thats how you achieve a bio minor

I think there is somewhere on the mcmaster site where it shows you what you need to get a minor in bio

It's possible to switch into commerce, but most of your courses probably won't transfer so be prepared to either take summer school or possibly repeat first year. If you decide now you might be able to take some first year commerce courses next term--talk to an advisor asap.
