So I managed to pass everything except Math 1Z04 this semester..

I have heard you can't take Math 1ZZ5 next semester if this happens because 1Z04 is the prerequisite, and I would thus have to take both in the summer.

However I've also heard you can get special permission to take 1ZZ5 next semester even if you fail 1Z04? Does anyone know how this works and how likely getting this "special permission" is?

I think there were a few people in my ZZ5 class last year that had failed Z04... basically they just grant you permission to take 1ZZ5 if you show that you had something affecting your studying for the exam (or something like that) Like for example if you went into the exam with a solid 70 something... and came out of it with a failing grade, there is something to be said about the grade you had going in. If, however, you went into the exam with a 30 and came out with a 30... there really isnt much proof that you could have done well.
