Just wondering, how does one signup for summer school and can you take Physics and Chemistry in summer school, if i fail it in term 1? Plus can i take the Physics (that whole electromagnetism thing) in second term if i fail the physics for hte first term?

Summer school sign-ups become available sometime in March.

You can take these courses in summer school if you need to re-do them.

They've changed first year Physics since my time in it.. But, I know they do offer Physics 1B03 both terms. Just make sure your schedule is all in tact and be sure to watch out for your average!

Yeah you can take the Physics 1E03 aka 'The Electromagnetism Thing' in the winter semester as Physics 1D03 aka 'The Mechanics Thing' is not a pre-requisite for it.

P.S.
Make sure you find out what courses are offered in summer school because not ALL courses are offered in the Summer.

lol gosh darn new course names!

If you want to make sure the course is offered in the summer, contact the associate dean's office.

I guess someone in the Engineering Faculty has a lot of free time on their hands.

I'm pretty sure Physics 1E03 and 1D03 are physics courses for engineers. For science students it's still Physics 1B03/1BB3/1BA3 with simple course names...something like "intro to physics" and such. We science kids like to keep it simple .

About the courses not being offerd. Say if someone was to Fail Physics/Chem and the course was not offered in Summer School? What happens then?

Chemistry 1a03 and 1aa3 is offered at many other universities that mac accpcts..
you just need to get a letter of permission, which allows your credits to be equal to macs.... go to the deans office.. and see those academic advisors.. theyll get one..
i`m doing mine at ryerson.. since it`s in my hometown, and closer..

A word of advice about taking courses on a letter of permission...
Make sure you stay on top of the university in terms of sending transcripts, etc. And definitely talk to an academic advisor...although you can request an LOP online, it's a good idea to talk to someone, especially if the course is required in order for you to get into the second year program of your choice.

does any know how the summer phy 1b03 course runs compared with the ones during the normal yr? what are the profs like? is it harder to keep on top of the work because everything is rushed? any information would be helpful...
