I know what you mean. My mom would've probably freaked out on me if I said I wanted a pet, let alone a rodent -_-.

Personally I had hamster before (look like a rat still), and it wasn't that fun of a pet. You can't pet it like a normal pet, it has BIG ASS teeth and have no problem biting you.

I even try buying those Hamster's Ball so it can run around the house. The freaking thing ended up peeing all over the place.



Anyway, after that experience, I don't understand how people can keep rodents as pet.

turtles are cool. You keep them in a fishtank. They do smell, but we have a cover so it doesn't make a difference. The biggest issue is they're messy, and they need a big tank (they get up to 10 inch shells, and need about 10 gallon per inch)

This is a google pic. Mine's shells are about 5 inches right now. This one's about full grown. It's a boy, like my pair.



My tank's similar, but we don't bother aquatic plants. It's actually too small right now.

Same reason as fish, i suppose. It's not like you clean the tank every week, so there's all kinds of odd stuff in there...lol

But dogs smell too, it's really just cats that keep themselves neat
