Yeah he's versatile, but I think by putting Crosby on the wing we're losing the best playmaker in the entire tournament. Lecavalier is more of a finisher anyway, so he could easily play LW on the top line. Crosby has played center in every team he's played for in the past. For Rimouski in the QMJHL, they moved Marc-Antoine Pouliot (a natural center) to the wing. In the world juniors in 2005, Patrice Bergeron (another natural center with seniority on the national team) was moved to LW so Crosby could play center. Even in the NHL, Malkin plays the wing on the PP while Crosby is center. He's just too good at the position.

there is no excuse for not being able to score 4 + goals every game with the forwards we have. only team that can match our offense is russia... then our defense is just absolutely insane, you just have to laugh when you read off the names and think how dominating they are going to be. then our goaltenders are the best top 2 in the world. to think that teams have to first get by our defense to even get oppourtunities, and then they have to finish them on either luongo/broduer, good luck world

Agreed. We had better take gold... if we don't, there's going to be some very angry Canadians...

That sounds a lot like the talk before Nagano. And we saw how well that turned out.

if nhlers are still allowed to play in 2014, i think our team will be even better then...to me most of our top players will only be better in four years...guys like crosby, getzlaf, carter, richards, all the staals, phaneuf, weber, green, boewmeester, etc.

That was extremely disappointing.... kind of even embarrassing.

I actually think the jerseys look nice but I dont like how the stripes are so far apart. If they were a bit closer... would have been better.

lol Nagano? That was neither embarassing nor disappointing compared to Turin...i'm still scarred...Canada should be good this time but I have to admit Russia's forwards are scary good when you think about it

Anyways, it's Yzerman's decision and he can do whatever he wants. I just want to watch some hockey!

That’s a fair point. But what if someone who wasn’t invited to camp is having an AMAZING season, while someone that was invited is having an awful season? Would you choose the player that’s having an awful season over the player that’s having an amazing season? Also, I don’t think camp is the time to evaluate players. It’s more for coaches to get a sense of the players, and what they really need. The first 3 months of the season is the time to evaluate.

I agree, the jerseys do look awesome. I love the gold trimming around the maple leaf. I’m going get myself a Crosby one before the Olympics start!
GO CANADA GO!!!

True, I actually forgot about the fact that the season starts before the Olympics... rookie mistake >.<
That's true, they were also discussing that a couple days ago. How for most players it's going to come down to how well they play in the season.

Unless he gets injured, Crosby will defiantly make the team. Trust me I don't even need to explain why, it's a given! :p
Also, I’m curious who do you guys think will captain the team? I’d say Iginla. He’s a great leader, and he brings a lot of international hockey experience.
