umm i had an avg of like 57 % from gr 9-11 .. grade 12 i got 93 avg .. in grade 11 i knew like grade 2 math .. literally .

Lol I was going to add more to my post but I thought it unnecessary at the time.

If someone doesn't try because they don't care, and then realize they want/need certain grades to get into University or something, then their marks will change, sure.

But I was talking about a situation where someone, for example, tries and reaches about a 9 GPA for most of his university career. It's going to be hard for him to change to a 12.0 GPA within 1 semester out of no where, because he's been trying the entire time and can only manage about a 9.0. Compare that with someone who has been getting 11s and 12s their entire university career, perhaps because of their good work habits ingrained in them long ago.
