"We filmed in Hamilton. I hated it. Hated it. It was so bad. It was a bad area, but you've gotta do what you do for a movie."
Asked to expand, he says that aside from the sketchy neighbourhood, the people were rude, and then tells the following story. "We were at a bar and it was Open Mic Night so one guy was covering the Red Hot Chili Peppers, I believe, and I was playing pool with a friend in the back. And we were just talking, we were conversing and drinking, and three guys run up to us and go, 'Some guy's playing his heart out up there and you can't even have the respect to watch him!' And we're like, 'Dude, there's a pool table back here, you're like 30 feet away, that's the point of the bar. There's Open Mic Night and there's a pool table, it's what you do'. And he got so upset with us. It was very strange.

I've explored Hamilton throughout my 4 years here, and everyone else should as well. It's a rewarding experience, and it's not scary or dangerous.

true. Even I (who hasn't been to any western country before) didn't feel scared at all...okay maybe once when I got lost in the middle of nowhere until I walked 20 minutes to a Metro.

But I've been in downtown at 11PM all alone and haven't felt scared...and believe it or not, I haven't done that in my hometown!

I think the farthest I've gone is Limeridge though and that was when I wanted to check out Sportchek + other sport shoes shops (just 1 month after I had arrived in canada)

I've noticed that anything out of zone 1, from Mac it gets pretty bad. Especially at night when all the "creeps" come out

You should really explore more. Hamilton is roughly twice the size of Toronto in terms of land area. Neighbourhoods can very quite a bit, have you been to the Dundas, Waterdown, West/Central/East Mountain, West Hamilton, Tews/Webster's falls, Bay Front park, African Lion Safari, Grindstone creek, Devils punch bowl, the Drive-in movie theatre, the Historic sites? Have you sat out on the patio's on Augusta St. or Hess St. on a hot summer day enjoying finger food and beer with your friends? Have you sat a top the London Tap House on and enjoyed the roof top patio with good eats and drinks? Have you done the art crawls that take place every second friday of every month on James St. North?

 Two things:

1) I know your heart's in the right place, but some people are beyond convincing.
2) The London Tap House is AWESOME.
