This is why I battled SOLAR during course registration in June! So that I could NOT have a repeat of last year when I woke up at 7:50am, continually tried to log on, brought the laptop down to the kitchen around 10am because I was hungry, and taught my mom how to keep trying to get onto MUGSI so I could eat
Luckily, she is super-skilled at getting on, took her about 5 mins...but the elective I wanted was full anyways, so I went back to bed.

Good luck getting on, and if you do, I hope it's actually worth it!

I'll be sleeping, since my courses are done and all sections are entirely set in stone Of course, I'm paying for this in spades...8:30 classes every single effing day come Sept

So I guess upper years already have there time table set right?
that would make logging on to mugsi/solar easier since it's not going to be the entire school trying to get on, just the first years

Depends on your program. For mine, I have 4 of my 5 courses set out for me (they're required and there's only one section for everything except for the lab, but there's only one non-conflicting lab section so it amounts to the same thing). I got into the elective I wanted and it only has one section, so everything is golden I've also only got one term to deal with, since I'm on a work term in January.
If you're in a program with more electives or quasi-electives, then course registration sucks, because you have to fight to the death to get the courses you want. It will probably be nearly the whole school trying to log on, since people will be fighting to get the courses they want, AND switch into the sections they want...although sectioning is more of a problem for first-years, since sections are less common in upper years.

On the plus side, many people will (hopefully?) be working and thus unable to take up one of the spots on SOLAR...I forget how many there are, is it 250? or 200?

Haha yes, my mom can get me in every single time within 10mins. It's amazing <3

Word of advice if you have chem labs... don't have them on Fridays as most first year midterms are on Friday and you really don't feel like writing a 2 hour midterm right after a three hour lab. You feel soo aggrevated that you want to slap the person that left their cell phone on.

Side note: There are 100's of people that suffer when you leave your cell phone on please set it to vibrate. This has been a message from those who could've used an extra minute.

AGREED. too bad our program screws us into friday labs at every single opportunity. Force us to have orgo labs on Friday for the whole year when they run every day of the week! Force us to have bioorganic labs every Friday because the other timeslots conflict with our bajillion 8:30 classes! It's a bigger deal in first year when nearly all of your midterms will be Friday nights, but it's also a huge pain if you want to go home or have a life.../end rant

Seriously though, if you have a Friday 230-530 lab, it's worth fighting SOLAR to get rid of

So let me get this straight....if you didn't accept your payment agreement before August 10th you wont be able to access SOLAR? Mine is saying I cant access it til the 16th because of my payment agreement! Im so ticked off right now...I have a bunch of required courses that are in conflict right now and a bunch of people who want to change their timetables so they can sleep in every day are going to get on a week before me! It was posted all over this site a bajillion times for the past couple of months AND on the registrar's site. If you didn't know, you have no one to blame but yourself.
