If it's your first time using your student card as payment, don't forget to bring another piece of photo ID for verification (Titles is enforcing this pretty strictly this year).

Also, yes, Titles is giving out 20,000 free reusable bags during the rush. If you're buying a really big stack of books, you may want to bring an extra reusable bag. Titles gives one free bag per transaction. Plastic bags are now being sold for 15 cents each.

Whoa! 15 cents?! That's pretty expensive compared to normal stores.

A couple of days ago, I went to Titles and purchased items with my student ID. My initial thinking was that this money would be deducted out of my flex dollars, but only later did I learn that my student ID is used like a credit card, and this money would be added to my Mac tuition. However, as I went to view payment agreement, my tuition still isn't deducted, although I paid a long time ago, and I don't know how much I owe to the bookstore. So do I just find my receipt and pay the stated amount via internet banking to McMaster and would that go towards paying off my purchase?

Thanks!

Yea it takes them a few days to update your tution and other outstanding charges on your account statement. If you find the receipt, then you can pay the amount via internet banking (or other methods) to mcmaster and it would go towards your purchase at titles.

Yeah. It's to deter the use of plastic bags overall. I think most people (especially at grocery stores) will just buy plastic bags because they're really cheap and almost negligible. And besides, 100% of proceeds from this charge will go to green projects on campus.

I only get plastic bags at groceries for two reasons:

1. I forgot my reusable bag
or
2. I need plastic bags for my garbage can.
