took summer school at york - how does mac get my grades?
Hey guys,
I took my first summer school course at York this summer, I was wondering how Mac will receive my grade in this course? Am I supposed to ask York for a transcript or something? Or does it just appear in my Mac grade report automatically? Not too familiar with summer school procedures.....
Thank you in advance for any help!!

You'll need to request a transcript to be sent to Mac from York.

^ Yep, they may charge money to do so (I know Waterloo charges $10 for every transcript), and send them directly to the artsci office.
The grade won't show up on your grade report though, it'll say the Mac equivalent of that course and then "LOP" and "C" (completed).

I was wondering if OP had requested LOP before taking classes at York?

You have to request LOP at Mac before taking courses at any other uni (they have to make sure there's an equivalent course at Mac).

Only for it to count towards your degree though. You are free to take prerequisites for professional/graduate schools at other universities without having the course count towards your degree.

Probably not, however, I would do it as soon as possible, especially if it's counting towards your degree. That way it'll be coded onto your transcript as soon as possible!

Hey I transferred from York too, just head down to Bennett Centre and ask them for a transcript, it's either $10 or $20 and you should bug them now so that Mac gets it before the Fall term starts!

Will they already have the transcripts for summer courses, I took a six unit course that ended very recently (Exam was last friday), and I know of a friend who hasn't even written the final for her course yet (it's on thursday)

What you actually had to do was talk to your professors about it and ask them to mark your exams early, you also need to pay maybe just $10 to request an early transcript so what they do is as soon as they receive your grades, they send off the transcripts at that time instead of the same time as everyone else.
BUT if Mac doesn't care about your york grades and just wants to look at the courses, and it's not affecting your admission, you can wait for them to send it themselves but that could take up to a month or two.
Oh and btw, if you do the early one, you can figure out when they send your transcript when the grades come up on your grade report..that should be when they send it to mac or the day after
